A southeasterly airflow for the upper North Island brings in a few showers today meanwhile a front moving northwards over the South Island means a few showers develop in the east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, a few showers for Coromandel, Great Barrier Island and north of Auckland. Southeasterly winds then afternoon sea breezes Auckland southwards.
Highs: 19-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, a few afternoon clouds about the ranges. Light winds.
Highs: 19-24

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny however expect a few showers north of about Mahia Peninsula, clearing evening. East to northeasterly winds. Southerlies develop for Wairarapa around midnight bringing in some cloud.
Highs: 19-24

Wellington

Sunny with light northerlies, southerlies freshen later in the evening with some cloud.
Highs: 20-23

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds then afternoon sea breezes, southerlies develop in the evening with cloud for Marlborough.
Highs: 20-26

Canterbury

Sunny and warm, southerlies develop in the afternoon with cloud building inland about the ranges, a few isolated showers get going then cloud thickens everywhere in the evening with drizzle or a few showers spreading to the coast.
Highs: 19-25

West Coast

A mix of sun and cloud, a few showers about Fiordland clear in the afternoon. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-22

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny, late morning a few brief showers move through Southland then Otago during the afternoon as northwesterlies change fresh southwest. One or two isolated showers about North Otago may become heavy for a moment. Cloud breaks again after showers clear.
Highs: 17-24
