An anticyclone sits in the north Tasman Sea today while lows churn away in the Southern Ocean. New Zealand is caught in a westerly airflow in the middle. Expect showers at times in the west while eastern areas stay mainly dry although there could be a sneaky showers or two sneak up the east coast of the South Island afternoon and evening.
Auckland & Northland
Cloudy spells with brisk westerly winds, the odd light shower mainly out west in the early morning then again afternoon.

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Cloudy periods with brisk westerly winds, sunny spells to start the day about the Bay Of Plenty. During the
afternoon expect showers which then clear later in the evening, showers staying away from the Bay Of Plenty mostly.

Eastern North Island
Brisk westerly winds, mainly sunny although a period of cloud during the afternoon may deliver a brief shower or two.

Western North Island
Morning rain eases to showers which then clear afternoon, a few sunny spells develop from midday onwards. Brisk westerly winds.
