A weak area of high pressure lies over New Zealand today bringing mainly settled weather, light winds and clear skies last night may bring some fog to a few North Island regions this morning.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny, there may be a few morning fog patches then clearing. Some high cloud late afternoon / evening moving in from the west. Light winds.
Highs: 18-21

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, there may be a few morning fog patches (especially inland) then clearing. Some high cloud from late afternoon moving in from the west. Light winds.
Highs: 16-19

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny, any coastal morning cloud clears. Light winds tend northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 18-19


Wellington

Mostly sunny, cloud thickens in the evening. Northerlies pick up later in the day.
Highs: 17-18

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny, some high cloud from afternoon. Light winds tend north to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 18-21

Canterbury

Sunny areas and some high cloud, light northeasterly winds in the afternoon.
Highs: 15-17

West Coast

Mostly cloudy with occasional showers, northeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Southland & Otago
High cloud, sun breaks through at times. A few late evening showers or spots of rain possible. Light winds mostly from the north.
Highs: 14-15
