An anticyclone covers New Zealand today bringing mainly settled weather, a weakening front moves onto the lower South Island overnight.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny, light winds then afternoon sea breezes. There may be a morning mist of fog patch to start the day about inland areas.
Highs: 24-29

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning cloud breaks to a mostly sunny day, light winds then afternoon westerly quarter winds.
Highs: 20-29

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny, may be a touch of high cloud, light winds then afternoon east to southeast winds.
Highs: 24-28

Wellington
Early cloud then mostly sunny with some high cloud, southerlies tend northerly in the afternoon.
High: 22

Marlborough & Nelson
Any morning cloud breaks then mostly sunny with some high cloud, light winds then afternoon sea breezes.
Highs: 21-27

Canterbury
A mix of sun and cloud with freshening east to northeasterly winds, easing later in the evening.
Highs: 21-25

West Coast
Sunny areas and some high cloud, evening cloud about Fiordland brings drizzle or a few showers. Light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-26

Southland & Otago
Sunny areas and some high cloud, morning mid level cloud about coastal areas breaks away. Light winds tend onshore in the afternoon. Overnight spots of rain possible.
Highs: 17-28
