New Zealand lies in between areas of high and low pressure today so once again things are fairly placid, a frontal zone does bring shower activity to the eastern North Island however.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning low cloud or fog then mostly sunny, light southerly quarter winds. The Bay Of Plenty has a mainly sunny day.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning low cloud or fog for areas in the east especially towards the ranges, some sun may break through for a time otherwise remaining fairly cloudy. In the afternoon a light shower or two is possible then clearing evening. Towards the west (i.e. Taranaki) conditions are mostly sunny. Light winds tend easterly or southeast.
Highs: 12-14

Eastern North Island
Patchy rain or showers, easing evening. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington
A light shower or two, clearing late afternoon / evening. Some sun may start to break through at times from afternoon. Light winds.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning cloud with the risk of a light shower then sunny spells break through, light winds.
Highs: 13-14

Canterbury
Morning cloud breaks then mostly sunny, could be an early shower especially about Banks Peninsula. Light east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-12

West Coast
Sunny spells for North Westland, a bit cloudier further south. Cloud thickens in the evening for all bringing the risk of a drizzle patch. Light east to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago
Any morning cloud clears then mostly sunny with light east to northeasterly winds. Cloud may be a little more persistent about coastal Otago morning and night.
Highs: 10-12
