An anticyclone lies across the South Island today, expect southeasterlies further north.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, may be a shower or two for Northland and Auckland. Northland especially so from afternoon. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 19-21

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, southeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-19

Eastern North Island
Mostly cloudy with a shower or two, cool southerly winds.
Highs: 16-18

Wellington
Areas of cloud, may be a shower or two (especially morning) otherwise mainly dry. Southerly winds.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with afternoon easterlies about Marlborough, afternoon northerlies for Nelson.
Highs: 16-17

Canterbury
Mainly sunny, some cloud about the coast may bring an early shower then clearing away. Light winds then afternoon northeasterlies.
Highs: 15-16

West Coast
Sunny with light winds tending onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-19

Southland & Otago
A mostly sunny day after any morning cloud clears, winds are light tending onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 16-18
