High pressure mostly lies out over the Tasman Sea and northern New Zealand making the South Island a little more unsettled with clouds and rain in the west.
 
The airflow across New Zealand remains mostly warm today. Here’s the forecast for Wednesday across the country.
  
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud but a few showers possible inland in places like Waikato. Winds are light, mostly from the westerly quarter.
Highs: 23 to 24
 

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud. West to south west winds.
Highs: 20 or 21


Eastern North Island
A mix of sun and cloud with light variable winds.
Highs: 21 to 28 (hottest in Hawke’s Bay)

Wellington
Fairly cloudy with nor’westers.
High: 19


Marlborough & Nelson

A pleasant day with mostly sunny weather and west to north west breezes.
Highs: 22 to 25

 

Canterbury
A mix of sun and cloud. West to north west breezes.
Highs: 22 or 23


West Coast
Patchy rain slowly moves up the coast with winds from the west to north west. Mainly dry in the north.
High: 17 to 19


Southland & Otago
Fairly mild with nor’west winds for most areas. Sunniest in the east but clouds thickening in the west and south. Mainly dry.
Highs: 17 to 21
