A weakening front crosses over the North Island today, a ridge builds over the South Island then the North Island later in the day.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Areas of cloud and occasional sun, a few isolated showers in the afternoon, more so about Auckland and the Waikato. Light northwesterly winds.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloudy areas and a few showers, especially morning then gradually easing from afternoon. Light winds.
Highs: 12-16

Eastern North Island

Sunny areas , light northwesterlies change southeast in the afternoon bringing increasing cloud and perhaps a few patchy showers.
Highs: 17-18

Wellington

Sunny spells with south to southeasterly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

A mix of sun and cloud, light winds.
Highs: 14-15

Canterbury

Any early showers clear then sunny spells may break through in the afternoon, light east to northeast winds.
High: 12

West Coast

Any early cloud clears otherwise mainly sunny with light winds.
Highs: 13-14

Southland & Otago

Any morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, light winds.
Highs: 9-12
