Mostly sunny weather across the North Island today with light winds after a frosty start, any morning fog patches quickly burn off. Some cloud may affect East Cape and the northern tip of Northland, also western coastal areas from Taranaki north through to Auckland should experience cloudy areas today. High’s in the mid teens once again for the far north, most other areas can expect high’s of 12 or 13 degrees.

Rain in Fiordland eases this afternoon, cloudy areas for the rest of the West Coast with light northwesterlies. Sunny in Nelson and most other areas of the South Island with light winds after a frosty start, there will be some high cloud about the lower half of the island at times however. 12 to 13 degree high’s in most areas although cooler single figure high’s in Central Otago.
