A front moves in from the west today, naturally western regions are looking to be wet with Northland in for some heavy rain (torrential falls possible) afternoon on wards. Eastern areas look drier however the east of the South Island does see some rain spill over from the west for a time.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy with the odd shower at times. Rain about Northland. Rain becoming heavy about Northland in the afternoon with other regions further south seeing areas of rain later in the evening / overnight.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny areas with northeasterly winds, cloud thickens in the evening then rain moves in overnight. Taranaki and the Central North Island are cloudy from morning, the odd shower from afternoon then rain moves in overnight with heavy falls about Taranaki.

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny in the morning then high cloud thickens after midday, the odd light shower just north of Gisborne during the day. Breezy northeasterly winds.
Sunny areas with northerly winds, cloud thickens overnight with rain by dawn on Thursday.

Marlborough & Nelson
Plenty of high cloud about Marlborough with north to northeasterly winds, the odd spot of rain possible from afternoon otherwise mainly dry. Rain is likely about the Nelson region from late morning. Rain overnight may be heavy.
Thick high cloud, some rain moves through late afternoon then eases in the evening before pushing back in overnight. Breezy northeasterly winds.
Cloudy with rain moving in by midday, heavy falls afternoon and evening. Breezy Nor’East winds.

Southland & Otago
Plenty of high cloud, chance early spot of rain then in the afternoon rain spreads down from the north into Otago reaching Southland in the evening. North to northeast winds.
