Showers is on the way for some parts of the country which desperately need it today – which is the good news.
The bad news is the dry weather isn’t over yet…

Here are the regional forecasts for Wednesday:

Wellington, Wairarapa, Hawkes Bay and Gisborne

Clouds thickening and showers or a few spits moving in during the afternoon. Wellington has a better chance of wet stuff but not a huge amount expected. Some parts of the east may stay completely dry. Winds from the North.
Highs: 22 to 25
Tonight’s Lows: 13 to 15 

Rest of the North Island

Clouds thickening and isolated showers developing, There may be a few heavy falls here and there – fingers crossed. Winds mostly light, humid and from the northerly quarter.
Highs: 22 to 26
Tonight’s Lows: 13 to 17

Marlborough & Nelson

Patchy Rain moving in with some briefly heavy falls around the Nelson Ranges. Only a few showers further east.
Highs: 21 to 25
Tonight’s Lows: 11 to 13

West Coast

Rain in the north clearing in the morning. Light SW winds
High: 20
Tonight’s Low: 12

Southland, Otago, Canterbury

Cloudy periods and mostly dry. Light variable winds, mostly coastal.
Highs: 20 – 24
Tonight’s Low: 8 to 11
