An east to southeasterly airflow lies over the North Island today, most regions can expect showers atleast for a time today. In the South Island it is fairly cloudy in the east with some drizzle about, sunnier in the west although showers are possible about the ranges late afternoon / evening.

Sunny areas and some cloud, a few showers about mainly afternoon. Southeasterly winds.

Auckland

Sunny areas and some cloud with southeasterly winds, in the afternoon a few
isolated showers move through which clear in the evening.
High: 27

Bay Of Plenty

Periods of cloud with east to southeasterly winds, a few showers about
mainly late afternoon and evening.
High: 26

Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny areas and some cloud with southeasterly breezes, cloud builds PM then
expect a few isolated showers late afternoon / evening. Showers more likely in the west with the chance of a heavy fall / thunderstorm.
Highs: 26-29

Eastern North Island

Fairly cloudy with showers or drizzle, there may be a few sustained falls
for a time then easing during the afternoon. Easterly winds.
Highs: 23-14

Taranaki

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon west to southwest
winds. Isolated showers form inland late afternoon one or two of which could be heavy with thunderstorms. Isolated showers may pass through later in the evening nearer the coast.
Highs: 26-27

Western North Island

Mostly sunny weather with easterly winds, a bit breezy in the
afternoon. Palmerston North northwards (mainly inland) isolated showers are possible late afternoon / evening bringing the chance of a heavy fall and or thunderstorm.

Wellington

Periods of cloud and sunny spells, easterly breezes.
Highs: 26

Nelson

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning then afternoon
northeasterlies.
Highs: 24-25

Marlborough

Cloudy periods and easterly winds, chance of a drizzle patch or two about
otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 25-26

Canterbury

Mostly cloudy with east to northeast breezes, some drizzle at times mainly
morning and evening. Morning drizzle may contain a few sustained showers.
Highs: 22-23

West Coast

Sunny areas and some cloud, light winds. Chance of an isolated shower late
afternoon / evening about inland hills and ranges.
Highs: 21-24

Coastal Otago

Mostly cloudy with east to northeast winds, there may be a sunny break late
afternoon or evening for a time.
High: 20-22

Central Otago

Morning cloud breaks to afternoon sunny areas, chance of an isolated shower
in the evening about a few hills and ranges otherwise mainly dry. Light
winds.
Highs: 26-27

Southland

Cloudy in the morning with the chance of a drizzle patch or two, a few
afternoon sunny spells. Southeasterly winds.
High: 23
