A southwesterly airflow lies over the country again today bringing showers to many areas, snow flurries developing to 500m about Southland this evening.
Auckland & Northland
Breezy west to southwest winds, cloudy periods with occasional showers, more likely from afternoon.

Bay Of Plenty
Sunny spells with breezy westerlies, the odd shower may pass through in the
afternoon.

Waikato & Central North Island
Periods of cloud with occasional showers, dry spells too espesially in the
east. Westerly winds.

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with brisk west to northwest winds, the odd shower about
Wairarapa during the day.
Highs: 15-17
Western North Island
Cloudy periods with brisk westerlies, occasional showers. Conditions may be
mainly dry in the morning about northern Taranaki.
A few morning showers move through then clearing, southerly winds. Becoming
mostly sunny in the afternoon with northwesterlies increasing.
Sunny spells with southwesterly winds, any morning cloud breaks away.
A few morning showers clearing then mostly sunny, west to northwest winds
develop from afternoon.

Morning showers
clear with southwesterlies easing, sunny spells increase from midday with light
winds. Overnight a southwest change moves in with further showers.
Showers with breezy west to southwest winds, winds ease from late afternoon
for a time then freshen again later in the evening.
Brisk westerlies ease, periods of cloud and a few sunny spells. In the
evening winds change strong WSW with the odd shower moving in then clearing by
midnight.
Sunny areas and northwesterly winds, mid to late afternoon a westerly
change develops bringing occasional showers, a few snow flurries to 600m at
night mainly in the west and south. Drier skies overnight in the east.
Early showers clear, skies remaining fairly cloudy with northwesterly winds
freshening. Mid to late afternoon winds change gusty westerly with showers
moving in again, snow flurries to 500m by evening.
