A ridge lies over much of the country today bringing mainly settled weather, a front about the far south of the South Island brings a few spots of rain.

Auckland & Northland
Sunny spells with light southwesterlies in the morning, building a little in the afternoon. About Northland expect light winds in the morning then afternoon sea breezes.
Highs: 24-25

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island

Sunny spells with light winds in the morning tending westerly from midday. Afternoon northerlies develop about the Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 24-25

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon easterly
breezes.
Highs: 23-24

Western North Island

Sunny spells with light winds in the morning then afternoon westerly
breezes.
Highs: 21-24

Wellington

Mainly sunny with areas of cloud. Northerly winds, picking up a little in
the evening.
Highs: 19-20

Nelson

Sunny spells with light winds in the morning, afternoon northerly
breezes.
High: 22

Marlborough

Morning cloud clears to mostly sunny weather, light winds in the morning
then afternoon northerly breezes.
High: 25

Canterbury

Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, easterly winds, a little
breezy at times after midday near the coast.
Highs: 20-21

West Coast

Sunny spells with light north to northeasterly breezes. About Fiordland
expect some rain which clears later in the evening.
High: 18

Coastal Otago

Cloudy areas morning and night with sunny spells by day, east to northeast
winds.
Highs: 18-19

Central Otago

Areas of high cloud and sunny spells, westerly winds tend southwest in the
afternoon. There may be a few spells of rain later in the evening then clearing
around midnight.
High: 20-23

Southland

Fairly cloudy with light northerlies, the odd spit of rain at times. Winds
change westerly in the evening with spits of rain easing then clearing.
High: 20
