Here’s what is making the weather headlines today….
UPCOMING RAINFALL
At the risk of sounding like a broken record, rainfall for western parts of the country today is heavy, conditions for the most part are drier in the east bar a few spits spreading over from the west.
The rest of the week ahead and into next week has more rain on the way, heavy rain affects different western areas at different times, but if we are to step back and look at the next seven days the rainfall accumulation situation will look like the below image.
The map below shows rainfall accumulations from Tuesday 2nd May through to Wednesday 10th May, without much guess work you can tell what parts of the country will get the highest accumulations and where will be drier.

WARM TEMPERATURES
Temperatures at the moment are above normal compared to the statistical average, humidity for the upper North Island for the next seven days is going to feel quite muggy.
Below are temperatures for the next three days, high’s in the late teens or early twenties are likely. The West Coast and Central North Island is a bit cooler then elsewhere.
FOG OVERNIGHT THURSDAY
There is a suggestion of some fog or low cloud for the eastern South Island overnight Thursday / early Friday morning.
