A few patches of mist or fog for the South Island this morning, if you got it this morning then chances are you may get it again overnight as the weather pattern doesn’t really change today through to tomorrow.

STRONG SOUTHEASTERLIES IN THE NORTHEAST

A southeasterly airflow lies over the North Island today, East Cape through to eastern Northland will see strong coastal southeasterly winds. Winds may gust to gale at times so no taking the dinghy around Great Barrier Island for a moocher 20lb snapper today.

High pressure and clear skies means frosty nights for the South Island this week, below is a few maps through to Friday morning.

Temperatures are likely to get down to -5 for inland areas at times, perhaps lower in some very sheltered spots.
