Showers across the North Island ease this evening for most, clearing for many. Chance of some fog overnight about Auckland and the Waikato however this should clear by dawn as a southerly wind freshens. A weak but cold southwesterly change moves onto the lower South Island this evening then slowly pushes north overnight.

Auckland & Northland
Isolated showers, some possibly heavy then clearing by midnight. There may be a ptch of fog or two overnight about the Auckland area then clearing around dawn as southerly winds freshen. Winds tend westerly overnight about Northland with fog not as likely.

Bay Of Plenty

A few isolated showers about this evening possibly heavy then clearing by
midnight. Light winds tend southerly overnight.
Tonight’s Low: 10

Waikato & Central North Island

Cloudy areas with a few showers, possibly heavy about the Waikato this
evening then easing. Clear spells develop later with light winds, fog patches
possible then southerlies freshen by dawn tomorrow. About southern parts of the
Central North Island expect mainly dry weather this evening, overnight a few
showers move in.

Eastern North Island

Areas of cloud with light winds, southwesterlies freshen a little overnight
with a few showers.
Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Taranaki

A few showers, mainly for northern parts of the region clearing later this
evening. Cloud breaks overnight, southeasterly winds.
Tonight’s Low: 8

Western North Island

Areas of cloud, light southeasterlies.
Tonight’s Low: 7

Wellington

Mostly cloudy with the odd drizzle patch or shower, cool southerlies.
Tonight’s Low: 8

Nelson

Any showers about clearing this evening, cloud then gradually breaks away.
Light winds.
Tonight’s Low: 4

Marlborough

Cloudy areas with a few showers, clearing this evening. Cloud breaks
overnight. Southerly winds.
Tonight’s Low: 4

Canterbury

Mainly clear skies with some thin high cloud, cloudy areas for parts of
North Canterbury with a few showers in northern parts of North Canterbury
clearing then this evening. Light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 2-3

West Coast

Mainly clear skies, some high cloud for areas north of Greymouth. Light
winds freshen from the southeast overnight about South Westland.
Tonight’s Lows: 2-4

Coastal Otago

Clear skies, later this evening a few showers develop as southwesterlies
freshen. A few light snow flurries to 300m by dawn tomorrow.
Tonight’s Low: 3

Central Otago

Mainly clear skies this evening, a few showers and light snow flurries
possible towards dawn tomorrow with southwesterlies. Areas of precipitation
mainly in the south and east of the region.
Tonight’s Lows: -1-1

Southland

A few showers with the chance of some light snow to low levels overnight,
cold southwesterlies.
Tonight’s Lows: 3-4
