Cold temperatures tonight for inland South Island areas as skies clear up and a ridge extending out from an anticyclone in the Tasman Sea moves in.

Waikato & Central North Island
southwest change.
Eastern North Island
Wairarapa later this evening bringing showers then further north
overnight.
Western North Island
overnight with a southwest change.
Wellington
mid to late evening with a southerly change then clearing. Cloud breaks
overnight.
Nelson
becoming clear by midnight.
Marlborough
elsewhere mainly dry and clear with west to southwest winds easing overnight.
Canterbury
ease.
West Coast
about Fiordland overnight with showers there towards dawn.
Coastal Otago
overnight.
Central Otago
Southland
evening. Winds tend northwest overnight.
