A low pressure system west of New Zealand brings a humid airflow over the country tonight. Expect rain for the northeast and some western parts of the North Island. Also areas of rain for the upper South Island and a few showers move onto the West Coast.

Auckland & Northland

Periods of rain or drizzle with humid northeasterly breezes, rain may
become heavy towards dawn tomorrow.

Tonight’s Lows: 17-18

Central North Island, Waikato
& Bay Of Plenty

Periods of rain with heavy falls at times about the Bay Of Plenty and
possibly Waikato, humid northeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 15-18

Eastern North Island

Fairly cloudy skies, some rain about Hawkes Bay and Gisborne clearing
overnight. Northeasterly breezes.

Tonight’s Low: 16

Western North Island

Cloudy with some rain about Taranaki, chance of a few falls at times
elsewhere otherwise mainly dry. Northeasterly breezes gusty about
Taranaki.

Tonight’s Low: 16

Wellington

Fairly cloudy skies, chance of the odd shower at times from this evening.
Northerly breezes.

Tonight’s Low: 16

Nelson

Cloudy with rain developing this evening, rain eases towards dawn tomorrow.
Northeasterly breezes.

Tonight’s Low: 16

Marlborough

Cloudy, some rain developing later this evening then easing overnight.
Northerlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Canterbury

Areas of low cloud develop this evening, easterly breezes near the coast
ease later. Could be a light drizzle patch or two overnight otherwise mainly
dry.

West Coast

Cloudy with the odd shower developing overnight, northeasterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-16

Coastal Otago

Some low cloud develops later this evening, easterly breezes ease.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Central Otago

Mainly clear skies, south to southwest breezes ease this evening. Light
winds overnight with some high cloud possible.

Tonight’s Low: 10-12

Southland

Mainly clear skies with sea breezes easing this evening. Some high cloud
possible overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 10
