A ridge moves onto the country tonight so cold temperatures can be expected about the South Island overnight and about central North Island regions. The last remaining showers clear from the South Island’s east coast this evening however some North Island places see showers continue through the night, to find out where have a read of the forecasts below.

Remaining showers clear this evening south of Taranaki, cold southerlies die out overnight with skies becoming clear. About Taranaki showers clear overnight with slightly warmer overnight lows.

Showers clear this evening with strong southerly winds dying out overnight.

Mainly clear skies with light winds.
