Two lows are affecting New Zealand’s weather this weekend with large areas of dry and cloudy weather but some localised very high rainfall totals, up to 150mm to 200mm in some parts of the West Coast ranges across the weekend.
By next week the low in the Tasman Sea will weaken and fall apart entirely while a low in the sub-tropics will drift south over the eastern North Island.
Across next week high pressure builds in the South Island but at the same time low pressure increases in the North Island as a sub-tropical system develops.
