There’s a lot going on weatherwise around New Zealand with a colder southerly affecting Southland and the West Coast for the next couple of days but then a large belt of high pressure moves in.
To the north a tropical low is developing and will brush northern New Zealand later this week, then may drop into the Tasman Sea and bring heavy sub-tropical rain to the West Coast over the weekend.
There may also be a tropical cyclone forming directly north of New Zealand next week – it is far too early to know if will impact New Zealand at all but it will be close enough to keep an eye on.
