The next surge of westerlies arrives over Tuesday and Wednesday and brings with it a few cold fronts and more wet weather to the east, but much warmer than average and mainly dry weather in the east.
By The weekend a large high crosses the country but is short lived, with windy Nor’Westers arriving in the South Island on Sunday (and really boosting temperatures in the east).
Westerlies look set to blow through much of next week also.
