After plenty of southerly quarter winds lately this week New Zealand gradually shifts back to more typical windy westerlies for spring and September, once we get through Tuesday anyway.
In fact by the end of this week and going in to this weekend the westerly winds may be blustery/strong in some exposed parts of central and eastern New Zealand.
So while this week may start a little cool and frosty for some, or cloudy and wet for others, it will end on a warmer and windier note for most places
