Today is a mostly settled day across the nation, with both islands enjoying mostly dry and settled weather.
As we head into Wednesday warmer winds will once again develop in some areas as clouds thicken ahead of a cold front. By Thurday wet air from the sub-tropics and Australia will converge over the North Island bringing widespread rain with heavy falls.
The South Island has more broken up weather with showers, long dry spells and even increasing sunny spells – but a wet change my affect some areas (briefly) on Friday – inclyding very dry North Canterbury.
