A high pressure system north of the country is helping fuel a hot air-flow across northern and eastern parts of the country.
Over the next two days temperatures will surge into the late 20s and early 30s across eastern areas, especially from North Canterbury to Hawkes Bay.
Western areas – not so hot – with the air coming right off the sea. It’s still dry and mild for most though with only a few downpours around Fiordland….for now anyway.
