There’s a cold change sweeping up the South Island today bringing some sea level hail and snow to 1000 metres on the southern mountain tops.
Further north rain or showers may dot the western coastline but most eastern and northern areas are dry.
On Sunday wind and rain returns to the South Island.

Hi Weather watch team,
Well done on the subtitles.
Even though I don’t need them, many Kiwis do.
Keep up the good work.
