A low in the Tasman Sea – which brought torrential rain to Queensland on Friday night – is this week moving towards New Zealand and will bring rain, possibly heavy, to some of our driest northern regions.
The heaviest falls may be a bit hit and miss but latest rain maps and forecasts all indicate a fairly good chance of a downpour this week, especially from Tuesday PM to Thursday PM.

Phillip , you tend to concentrate on the North Island . The above hardly mentions Canterbury .You also mention , when you do , that the rain is good . No its not , we have had far too much crappy rain weather !

Is there any reason why there are no playback controls (play, pause, maximize, share, menu etc) on this video? I think there might be something wrong with the code that embeds the video into this page.
On the NZ Herald website (http://www.nzherald.co.nz/national/news/video.cfm?c_id=1503075&gal_cid=1503075&gallery_id=139339) the playback controls are there, so no issues with the video itself.

G’day
You could be right there although I can see those functions you talk about. Will pass a note onto Phil.
Thanks for writing in!

I have checked this link for Monday’s video in a couple of browsers, the controls are partially visible in Internet Explorer, but not visible at all in Mozilla Firefox.
On yesterday’s video, the controls are fully visible in both browsers, although I notice they display bigger in Internet Explorer than they do in Mozilla Firefox.
