Weather Video: Strong winds, heavy rain slowly surge northwards this weekend

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The big high bringing frosty mornings and sunny days to many parts of New Zealand is with us for another day or two yet however those in the lower South Island can already feel the warm effects of the high moving away and the nor’west airflow kicking in.

At 8 this morning parts of Auckland were -1C while Gore was +10C and Invercargill +9C.

This weekend strong nor’west winds move up the country reaching everywhere by the end of Sunday.

On Monday it remains windy but gets much colder for most.
