A southwesterly airflow will lie over New Zealand today and on Tuesday as a high is centred out in the Tasman Sea, a few fronts will pass over the country during this time often weakening as they move northwards.

Wednesday starts to see a ridge of high pressure moving onto the South Island while a remaining southerly airflow sits over the North Island then on Thursday a ridge extends over much of New Zealand from a high in the Tasman Sea bringing mainly settled weather.

Temperatures on Thursday will start to feel quite summer like for many getting into the low to mid 20’s across many parts of the country, perhaps even late 20’s for inland parts of the lower South Island.
