Weather Video: Southern Ocean storm slipping away, incoming high promises warmer weekend

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A big storm in the Southern Ocean is today moving away to the south east and it will see gusty strong winds gradually easing around New Zealand.

Warmer weather is also coming. Thursday and Friday are transition days as this Southern Ocean low departs and the weekend high comes in (for northern NZ).

Gusty nor’westers kick in this weekend pushing temperatures above normal for many regions but bringing rain and wind back to the South Island.
