The week ahead sees a bit of a change in our pattern – we’re getting a southerly. It may not be the coldest or strongest but it will help drop temperatures in many areas back to where they should be for December…at least for two or three days anyway.
For those desperate for rain there will also be showers in both islands for a few days this week. They are a bit hit and miss but some could be heavy enough to soak into the ground and help rainwater tanks.
But the overall trend for the next 7 days across New Zealand remains to be drier than average.
By Friday and into the weekend the warmth will come back to any regions that felt a cooling down.
