Dry parts of the North Island have more showers in the forecast over the coming days. While no silver bullet to fix the big dry there is still the chance of some decent soaking downpours – hit and miss – around the North Island over the next four or five days.
Meanwhile drier, sunnier, weather will gradually return to other areas affected by cool winds and rain this week.
Next week a new low moves in from the Tasman Sea, bringing more showers (and some rain) to New Zealand.
