High pressure is dominating New Zealand this weekend and that means light winds across the country for the most part.

There may be a fair bit of cloudy areas, especially with afternoon sea breezes generating a few bigger cloud build ups.

A few downpours are expected in both islands this weekend but generally speaking the weekend looks calm and dry.

We also take an in depth look at La Nina and the current sea surface temperatures and how it might affect New Zealand this summer.
