We’ve seen some intense bursts of heavy rain over the last 24 hours in parts of the North Island, with Eastern Waikato bearing the brunt of the thunderstorms and wet weather.
The good news is the clearer skies we’ve seen through Thursday so far are set to stick around – for Friday at least.
The weekend is looking wet once again – and Philip Duncan has more details in the day’s weather video below.

Hi, and thanks for all the videos you present, they are very informative.
I was wondering, the ‘latest video’ that appears in the right hand column on all pages of the website, is still showing the video from Tuesday – ‘frosts are gone’. Should this not be showing today’s video – ‘after the rains’??
