High pressure dominates the North Island this week with mostly dry, warm, weather.
Meanwhile the South Island has a hot burst of weather this Thursday followed by a showery but drying out colder southerly on Friday.
The upcoming weekend looks mostly dry, but all eyes are on the subtropics next week for possible rain.
