More downpours and isolated thunderstorms are in the forecast for the Upper North Island on Wednesday and the central North Island on Thursday as a large high remains over the South Island encouraging a humid easterly at the top of New Zealand.
By Friday the big daytime downpours should mainly stop, but a sub-tropical low to the north will become the next focus.
On Saturday there is a chance rain – or showers – will spread into the upper North Island for a time. Northland is more exposed this time, especially eastern areas. By Sunday it’s departing already and most places are dry ahead of yet another week-long-high coming in next week.
