Tropical Cyclone Hola formed Wednesday morning and is likely to intensify further in the coming days, potentially reaching Severe Category 3 status on Thursday or Friday. In just 12 hours it has already reached Cat 2 status.
The storm is going to impact Vanuatu for the next few days and potentially New Caledonia too.
Late this week Hola is likely to track south and into less favourable conditions, allowing it weaken some as it drops towards the New Zealand area. It’s still quite uncertain where Hola will track in the New Zealand area though – we will need until Friday to be able to be more specific about this.
We also cover the current and weekend weather conditions for New Zealand.
*PLEASE NOTE – Since we recorded this Cyclone Hola jumped to Category 2 status*

Hi Phil,
Thanks for delivering a video every week day. It gives us the big picture of whats likely to happen over the next week or so. Unlike TVNZ. We knew 3 days ago whats happening tomorrow.
Regards,
Graeme
