This week is a typical messy spring week, kicking off with hot weather in the east today (up into the late 20s!) but a cooler change arriving in the South Island.
On Tuesday the windy nor’westers continue over the North Island but a cold front is also crossing through. This front develops a low pressure system over the North Island around Tuesday and Wednesday, but rain eases on Wednesday due to a very brief spell of high pressure.
This high will dominate to the north of the country on Thursday but bring a mostly settled day to NZ – ahead of the next front and windy westerlies for Friday and Saturday.
