Weather Video: A front today then westerly quarter winds dominate in the coming days

Today sees a front push northwards over the upper South Island and North Island during the rest of this afternoon and evening, northwesterlies preceding this front bring warm conditions in the east.

A west to southwesterly airflow on Saturday brings showers to the west of the South Island. Meanwhile, it’s mainly dry in the east although a southerly flick moves through Southland, Otago then Canterbury during the afternoon and evening bringing a few showers, some may even be heavy. The North Island is looking mainly dry however it gets a few showers again on Sunday while westerlies strengthen in the south.

A front pushes northwards on Monday bringing showers to most regions for a time.
