Weather Video: A busy weekend: Election, Equinox, Daylight Saving

As we head into the weekend a large low pressure system is crossing the North Island. The centre of the low tracked across Auckland City on Friday morning with calm conditions and showers.

As we head into Saturday the forecast improves further for those wanting to get out and vote. We take a close look at where the wet weather on Voting Day will be across the country.

Saturday is also the spring equinox at 8:02am ahead of daylight saving (spring forward one hour before you go to bed on Saturday night) Sunday sees Aussie warmth reach the South Island, then that moves into the North Island on Monday.

With it will be blustery, even gale force, nor’westers. We then take a long range look at what is coming over the next couple of weeks in our part of the world.
