Weather may hold up Prince William

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Prince William may be late arriving into Wellington from Auckland today.

Thick fog and mist are causing problems at Wellington Airport with some flights being cancelled or diverted. The Prince is due to arrive at 9am for his first engagement being a wreath laying at the National War Memorial.

This morning’s fog shrouds add to what has been one of the worst summers in memory in Wellington. The capital has been buffeted relentlessly by rain and wind since Thursday night, adding to the unseasonal weather the city has experienced during the past couple of months. Many outdoor events were cancelled over the weekend.
