Weather in the oceans around us – The Big Picture on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

There isn’t a lot going on in New Zealand weather-wise on Tuesday – although there’s plenty in the Tasman Sea and east out over the Pacific!

In the North Island, it’s looking mainly sunny in the west – from Northland down through to Kapiti and Wellington, winds generally from the west or southwest.
The East Coast – from Gisborne through to the Wairarapa – is slightly different, as a southerly airflow sees areas of cloud and some sun with southerly winds.

The South Island is looking mainly sunny, though there could be morning cloud in the east which burns away.
Winds mostly from the east in the east and from the west in the west.
There’s a chance of a few clouds building about inland hills and ranges of the South Island in the afternoon, which may result in an isolated shower late in the day.
