Weather headlines (x2) this weekend: Unsettled weather then settling down… to some degree

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Here’s what is making the weather headlines this Sunday.

LOOKING UNSETTLED FOR THE WEEK AHEAD

After what has been a very settled period of weather some unsettled weather is on the way. Rain or showers will likely be in the forecasts this coming week especially in the west, eastern regions may see showers or some scattered rain as fronts pass over but in general the east will trend drier than out west.

At least the western North Island should get some rain or showers which will be welcome. South of about western Waikato it is pegged to be a little wetter than normal over the coming week. North of Auckland is still looking to be a bit dry. The may below runs through to Friday 20th May.

SETTLED WEATHER IN THE DISTANCE?

After what is looking like being an unsettled week, an anticyclone starts to push in over the country on Monday 23rd May and this may lead to calmer weather for 5 to 7 days, frosty conditions too. It is a bit far out though so this could change but just a possible heads up about what it may look like in the distance.
