Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.

FRONT MOVES IN – WARNINGS FOR RAIN AND WIND

A front lies over the South Island today with some very heavy rain moving into the West Coast of the South Island. Expect a strong northerly airflow to lie over the South Island also, especially the upper half.

FRONT REACHES THE NORTH ISLAND ON THURSDAY

The front mentioned above reaches the North Island on Thursday however it weakens a fair amount so just some typical rain or showers in the west as it moves through.

HIGH MOVES IN THIS WEEKEND

We have a fairly standard southwest front to deal with on Friday with showers in the west and about the far south then this weekend a high pressure system moves in from the Tasman Sea, naturally some settled weather should follow.
