Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.
NORTHWEST AIRFLOW WEAKENS TODAY
A gusty or perhaps strong northwesterly airflow over the South Island and lower North Island eases from this afternoon. A front pushes off the top of the South Island this morning then onto the lower North Island bringing some rain, this front weakens from afternoon also.
This evening high pressure spreads over most of New Zealand.
Expect nice weather in the east today with temperatures reaching into the mid to late teens. The upper North Island sees temperatures reaching into the late teens also.
SETTLED WEATHER ON THURSDAY, RAIN FOR FIORDLAND
Expect a nice day for most of New Zealand tomorrow, just the West Coast has some cloud and there is some rain for Fiordland, possibly heavy.
In amongst what has been an unsettled winter so far we will take any settled weather we can get!
RAIN BECOMING HEAVY FOR SOUTH WESTLAND ON FRIDAY
A fair chunk of New Zealand continues to have good weather on Friday, a northerly airflow does increase for the South Island though and some very heavy rain moves into South Westland, especially afternoon on wards.
