Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.

WARM / HOT – HIGH TEMPERATURES FOR MANY

A ridge of high pressure brings some settled weather today mainly for the South Island meanwhile high humidity for the North Island leads to showers, perhaps heavy this afternoon with thunderstorms.

Temperatures around New Zealand will be in the mid to late twenties for many.

NORTH ISLAND T/STORMS

High humidity lies over the North Island today bringing showers, some may become heavy this afternoon with thunderstorms then easing this evening.

SETTLED FOR THE SOUTH ISLAND ON WEDNESDAY

High pressure remains over the country on Wednesday, an easterly airflow moving around the top of this high moves into the North Island bringing a few showers or perhaps some rain.
