Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.
FRONT WEAKENS AS IT MOVES NORTHWARDS
A front moves off the upper South Island this morning then onto the lower North Island around midday. The front weakens quite a bit with early heavy rain for Buller easing, only a few showers reach Taranaki through to Wellington and into Wairarapa.
WARM NORTH ISLAND
Temperatures for the upper North Island and in the east are warm today getting into the late teens or early twenties, this in contrast to the far south and for the West Coast where temperatures reach into the early to mid teens.
TROPICAL LOW SATURDAY / SUNDAY
A tropical low moves down from the north on Saturday, at this stage it looks to pass to the northeast of the North Island away to the southeast. So the weather at this stage doesn’t look like it will deteriorate for the North Island much, however swells will pump in.
We will monitor this situation as we move forward in case the low moves closer or over the North Island.
