RAIN FOR THE LOWER SOUTH ISLAND
A couple of fronts bring rain to the lower South Island today, south of about Banks Peninsula in the east and Greymouth in the west. Later this evening rain will start to break away for Canterbury but a few spits could remain.
WARM DAY IN THE NORTH
The North Island sees warm temperatures today into the early twenties for many, perhaps just in the southwest will highs be a little lower getting into the late teens (Taranaki through to Wellington). Taranaki and Kapiti / Wellington also carry the risk of a shower or two.
HEAVY RAIN NORTH ISLAND ON SUNDAY
A front passes over the North Island on Sunday and it links up with a subtropical feed from the north almost reaching the likes of Fiji, this brings the potential for some heavy rain to move through. Something to keep an eye on.
