Weather headlines (x3) for Thursday: Hot in the east, Heavy rain – West Coast, More thunderstorms

Here’s what is making the weather headlines today.

HOT IN THE EAST

A northerly airflow brings warm temperatures to eastern regions today, hot you could say. Tomorrow temperatures climb even a bit higher as high cloud breaks away.

Today sees high’s reaching into the late 20’s or early thirties, tomorrow (Friday) we may see highs even crack the mid thirties. The warmest temperatures will be about the eastern South Island.

HEAVY RAIN – WEST COAST

Some heavy rain for the West Coast today in a northerly airflow, conditions ease back tomorrow afternoon. On Sunday a front moves northwards over the South Island and this brings some very heavy rain to the West Coast.

Bay Of Plenty may see the odd heavy fall today also.

MORE THUNDERSTORMS

Some instability about western parts of the North Island today and again on Friday, Saturday has a wider area of instability in the north.
